Sankara Wholistic Wellness

During a series of sessions utilizing various techniques such as Meditation, Journaling, Breathwork, Somatic Release, Yoga, Sound Therapy, Reiki and Massage, clients are equipped with the tools to release mental, emotional and physiological blockages surrounding their ability to give or receive physical touch or intimacy due to past traumatic experiences which are currently preventing them from fully embracing life as whole, free beings.

Clients are guided through activities which teach them to honor the truth of their thoughts and feelings surrounding a traumatic past experience in a safe way, learn to work through and overcome triggers, establish healthy boundaries, and help develop the security to allow themselves to be emotionally open with others again.

Clients relearn and are eventually reintroduced to safe physical touch, and are ultimately able to reclaim their power without losing their softness.

* These Self Healing Trauma Release sessions are meant to work in collaboration with traditional mental health services.

Khepera Sankara

Your New Trauma-Informed Wholistic Wellness Practitioner

Khepera Sankara

I am a natural, home-birthing mother of 3 beautiful, vibrant, healthy, vegan since (before) birth children. My natural home birth experiences were honestly some of the most amazing, empowering and enlightening moments of my life.

Unfortunately, that is not the typical birth story here in the United States or in other places around the world - even in "developed" nations. I know the statistics for maternal mortality, neglect, and mistreatment specifically of women of color in the "traditional" hospital setting (pregnancy-related mortality rate is 2-5x higher for women of color than white women, with black women representing the highest end of that scale even while under the care of doctors during pregnancy and delivery according to the latest CDC data). I've felt the pain of family and friends as if it were my own while listening to their horrifying personal accounts of their traumatic birth experiences at the hands of cold, uncaring, and/or overworked nurses and doctors without anyone to speak up for them when they felt they were being mistreated or their wishes disrespected and disregarded, but felt as if they didn't have a voice or the courage to self advocate.

With the continual suggestion and gentle prodding from friends, family and even my midwife, I finally followed what to me seemed to be Divine guidance to pursue training as a Birth and Postpartum Doula. I understand firsthand the challenges of pregnancy, childbirth and motherhood especially during the first year postpartum, and am and honored to support and advocate for mothers/parents during the birth to actualize their personal desired birth experience regardless of what that may look like. I am here to help empower women and families to successfully navigate such a life altering, memorable, albeit challenging period of life drawing from both secular training and personal, experiential wisdom.

Spirit has led me to share my knowledge and experience from over 10 years of living a holistic & vegan lifestyle and a lifetime of healing my own traumas, learning from and enlightening my own shadow aspects of self to help others self-heal in the realm of physical, emotional, and spiritual health through Breathwork, Yoga, Meditation, Reiki and other natural, herbal, physical and energetic healing modalities.

I understand that we are complex beings, acknowledge the indivisible connection between body, mind and spirit, and know that often times physical ailments are manifestations of deeper, energetic root causes and the vice versa is also true - mental or emotional / energetic disturbances which arise in ones life experience can manifest into physical ailments if not properly addressed and "digested". To TRULY heal any part of your self, your healing work must be wholistic - it must address your WHOLE being - body, mind and spirit - for it to be most effective and deeply transformative. That is my goal in any plan of action I create with my clients - facilitating (W)holistic healing on every level of ones being.

It's my honor to be used by Spirit in guiding you back to the knowledge of the innate Divinity and power of your Sacred Self along the journey of living naturally in sync with and as part of the Universe here on Mother Earth.
May your life be filled with Peace, Love, Prosperity and Purpose.
Ase.
(May it be so.)
